My Journey
I started in the ER, where saving lives sparked my passion for prevention, education, and health equity. Today, I combine clinical expertise and leadership experience to train and inspire the next generation of nurses at top universities.
Roots
Early Inspiration
I began my nursing career in the fast-paced ER at the University of Maryland Medical Center in downtown Baltimore, where I helped rescue patient after patient. While the adrenaline and “instant gratification” of emergency care was thrilling, I realized my passion lies in prevention and education—helping people stay out of the ER in the first place.

Current Focus
I am passionate about addressing social determinants of health and promoting health equity through an intersectional lens, while supporting nurses in enhancing racial and cultural concordance in urban healthcare settings.
